ABOUT US

BACKGROUND

The Denbighshire Domestic Abuse and Personal Safety Forum has been in existence since September 1996 and is responsible for co-ordinating activities in the county which are aimed at addressing issues relating to Domestic Abuse and, latterly, personal safety.

Its membership comprises of officers from statutory agencies such as the County Council, Police, Health Authority, Probation Service etc. as well as from voluntary organisations such as Women's Aid, the Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council and Victim Support.  

Since its inception the Forum has developed annual business plans which have been used to guide its activities, and to measure progress.

PURPOSE STATEMENT

To facilitate an increase in awareness of issues relating to domestic abuse perpetrated against women, men, their children and other dependants by improving services and support through a proactive inter-agency partnership. Additionally to identify and access resources to further these aims.

To facilitate an increase in awareness of issues relating to victimisation and harassment aimed at a person, because of their race sexual identity or disability by improving services and support through a proactive inter-agency partnership. Additionally to identify and access resources to further these aims.
